The Self Storage Association (SSA) is a premier organization dedicated to promoting the self storage industry in the United States and around the world. Our mission is to promote the highest standards of professionalism, conduct, honesty, integrity, and ethical business practices among our members. We strive to provide leadership, support, and resources to the self storage industry, addressing specific issues that affect our members and enhancing the quality and performance of self storage services and facilities.
Our Services
The SSA offers a wide range of services and resources to our members, including education and training programs, industry events and conferences, advertising and sponsorship opportunities, and access to valuable industry data and research. Our Certified Self Storage Manager (CSSM) certification program is designed to help facility managers enhance their skills and knowledge, while our Self Storage Legal Network provides members with access to legal resources and expertise. We also offer a variety of products and services, including our Online Store, Public Library, and Research & Data facilities.
Industry Advocacy
The SSA is committed to advocating for the self storage industry at the local, state, and national levels. We work closely with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other industry organizations to promote the interests of our members and ensure that their voices are heard. Our Legal Resource Center provides members with access to legal information, resources, and expertise, while our Disaster Readiness program helps facilities prepare for and respond to natural disasters and other emergencies.
Community Involvement
The SSA is dedicated to giving back to the community through our charitable initiatives, including our partnership with Charity Storage, a national charity designed to raise funds for local and national charities through self storage facilities across North America. We also support various state and local organizations, promoting the self storage industry's role in supporting local communities.
