At Wm. Meyers Movers, we're not just another moving company; we're a family tradition of moving service excellence in Chicagoland that spans four generations. Our history dates back to 1926 when William Meyers started a business delivering ice and coal to homes in the Elmhurst, IL area. Over the years, our business has grown and evolved, becoming the trusted household goods moving company you know today.

In 1945, William Meyers hired an enterprising young man named Bill Miller, who a year later fell in love with and married Mr. Meyers' daughter, Lois. This marked the beginning of the second generation of Meyers Movers, as Lois and Bill took over ownership in 1957. Their commitment to delivering flawless service and personalized care laid the foundation for our company's success.

The third generation of Meyers Movers came into being in 1974 when Kenneth Miller, the son of Bill and Lois, decided to join the family business after graduating from Northern Illinois University. Together with his wife Linda, they became the third generation owners of Meyers Movers.

In 1984, Meyers Movers joined Arpin Van Lines and quickly rose to become a top agent in the country. This was also the year when Ken Miller was elected to the Illinois Movers and Warehousemen's Association, serving as President from 1991-1993. Ken continues to be on the Board of Directors to this day.

In 1987, we left our family home in Elmhurst, which had been our headquarters since 1926, and moved to a 30,000 square foot office and storage facility in Itasca, IL. This expansion allowed us to better serve our growing customer base and provide more comprehensive moving and storage services.

In 1989, Ken took the principles that Wm Meyers Movers was built on to Halas Hall, becoming the official moving and storage provider for the Chicago Bears. This partnership lasted for 34 years and was a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional service and care for our customers' possessions.

Today, Wm. Meyers Movers serves the entire Chicagoland area, Northshore, and specializes in the Northwestern suburbs, including Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Lombard, Western Springs, Oak Brook, Burr Ridge, and beyond. We offer a wide range of moving and storage services designed to meet all your moving needs, from local moving to long distance moving, commercial moving and relocation, senior living relocation services, partial/full packing services, full/partial or premium unpacking services, and short/long-term & seasonal storage solutions.
